Sky Magic Eye - remote sky box control
The magic eye system allows the viewer to control a Sky box from any room in the house which has a TV with a coaxial cable connection to the sky box. The DIGILINK is 100% compatible with the Sky, Sky+ & Sky HD. The Remote Eye is simply placed on the front of the television set in the other room and relays remote control signals back to the sky box.
If you have a aerial signal supplied to your main sky box vewing area, this signal can also be routed to your remote TV via the magic eye coaxial cable, this will allow you to watch freeview if built into your remote television. The magic eye system can be installed on a single remote TV or or on up to 8 other televisions within your property. Its a great way to add flexibility to your basic home sky & digital freeview set up.
Just use your main sky remote at the location of your other televisions to watch & control your main sky box. Additional sky remotes are now available from many local tesco supermarkets now, as well as many high street electrical outlets.

Free satellite TV

Freesat, Launched as a joint venture between the ITV and BBC in May 2008 Freesat offers 100 plus channels without any contract or monthly charge, just a one of payment for your receiver and satellite dish installation. Good quality Freeesat receiver can be bought for as low as £50, with an installation cost of around £80 inclusive of parts and labour.
The service is transmitted 28.2 degrees east on the astra satellite which covers the whole of the UK and many parts or mainland Europe. HDTV can also be viewed using this method by simply buying a HD receiver and a HD television, once again without any monthly subscription. This is a great option for parts of the UK that cannot obtain good Freeview reception because of the local geographical terrain.
There are also a number of other satellites available to view in the UK without any monthly subscription, see lyngsat for more specific detail to identify your requirements. |
